Nancy Leveson is a Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and also Professor of Engineering Systems at MIT.

She conducts research on the topics of system safety, software safety, software and system engineering, and human-computer interaction.

She developed the STPA (System Theoretic Process Analysis) and STAMP (System Theoretic Accident Modeling and Processes) methodologies for accident analysis.

I watched her speak at SRECon 19 EMEA in 2019 where she gave a talk titled A Systems Approach to Safety and Cybersecurity.
